Leadership

In the leadership class, students will:

•       be inspired to center their lives on the ultimate example of leadership: Jesus Christ

•       learn about great men and women and the Christ-like character traits and habits they developed

•       be guided in setting monthly goals in the four areas the Church promotes: spiritual, intellectual, physical and social

•       be invited to start and complete the Book of Mormon within the school year

Physical Science:

CHEMISTRY & PHYSICS

In the science class, students will:

·      Explore nature's laws and God’s scientific laws through the study of study of introductory CHEMISTRY & PHYSICS

·       Read story-like science readings to help make science come alive. They will learn about some of the great scientists and that their profound faith in God underpinned their scientific discoveries and confirmed their belief in God.

·       Participate in weekly science experiments and hands-on projects  

·       Study from an award-winning Christian curriculum Apologia/Berean Builders which teaches science from a Biblical perspective

Leadership and Science

Power of Stories

Science will come alive as students read engaging, story-like science books. They will also read inspiring biographies to learn about the lives and habits of great men and women.

Hands-On Learning

Experiments will be a regular part of the science class. Group work and activities will also be incorporated into the leadership class to engage the students and deepen their learning.

Goal Setting

Students will be inspired to change as they set weekly goals in four areas: spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical. An accountability partner will help them stay motivated.

Class Schedule

Thursdays 9:30am-1:00pm

  • Ages 12-15

  • Thursdays 9:30am-1:00pm

  • Classes held at Inspire Dance Studio in Clearfield

  • $115/month

  • Join us on Thursday afternoons for temple, parks, service and hiking from 1:00-2:30pm.

  • $210/month if you also enroll in the Tuesday history class from 9:30-1:00pm.

Portions of this class will be reimubursable with OpenEd and Harmony. First semester, we will write a receipt for a Charlotte Mason style class including lunchtime, handicrafts, music appreciation and 3/4 of the Thursday afternoon outings for $50/month. We will not include science first semester on the receipt since we will be using The Good and the Beautiful curriculum. Second semester, we will include science on the receipt since we will be using Apologia textbook and I have gotten that textbook reimbursed with OpenEd funds. So second semester the receipt will cover science, lunchtime, handicrafts, music appreciation, ¾ of the Thursday outings (temple excluded) for $75/month. You can then submit this receipt to  OpenEd (MyTechHigh) or Harmony. FULL REIMBURSEMENT for Thursday class with Utah Fits All or Children First Education Fund.
