We also offer an beginning Spanish class using TPR Storytelling for ages 11 and older (parents welcome to take the class too!) on Mondays and Wednesdays. TPRS focuses on using interactive, co-created oral stories, readings and novels that contain the most commonly-used words and phrases in Spanish to help students get familiar with a new language easily and quickly. Students acquire the language instead of memorize conjugations and rules. Some recent TPRS online classes have students reaching the intermediate-mid level in just 60-100 hours where typically this takes 400-600 hours. It is an phenomenal way to learn a foreign language.

TPR Storytelling
TPRS® or Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling® was created by Blaine Ray, a Spanish teacher, in the late 1980s. It is a language teaching method based on the idea that the brain needs enormous amounts of Comprehensible Input (CI) to acquire a new language. In addition, teachers and students interact and create opportunities for students to speak and try out their new language, resulting in rapid gains in fluency.
Fluency
Many students are reaching an intermediate level of Spanish in just 60-100 hours. Usually this takes 400-600 hours. This method works!
Interactive
The students are involved in telling and creating funny Spanish stories. They are involved and hear the language structure from day 1.
Reading
Classes read stories created in class and short novels written for TPRS® classrooms. This increases language exposure and accelerates fluency.

$55/month or $40 a month if you also enroll in the Tuesday or Thursday class at Aspire Mountain Academy.
Join us on Thursday afternoons for temple, parks, service and hiking from 1:00-2:30pm.
