Electronics Policy

·       It is preferred that all electronics are left at home including phones, earbuds, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, etc.

·       If the student does bring electronics, they must be handed to the teacher at the beginning of class and remain in the spot designated by the teacher throughout the day. Please place smartwatches on focus mode and phones on do not disturb. If a parent needs to contact his/her child, please call the teacher as her phone will not be on do not disturb.

·       Students may use their phone/watch to communicate with parents only as needed. Students must stay in the same room as the teacher when using their phone/watch and be brief.

·       We recognize some students struggle with anxiety or medical issues. Therefore, if the parents prefer, students may wear their watches or bring their phones on the days we walk to the park during lunch and nature journaling. (The park is a 5 minute walk from the school). Students need to ask permission from the teacher if they need to use their device at the park to communicate with a parent. The teacher will always give permission. Phone or smartwatch screens are never to be shown to other students.

·       If your child needs to wear his/her watch for medical issues, please contact your child’s teacher so she can be aware. Please keep your child’s watch on “focus mode” or “do not disturb” mode so it is not a disruption in class.
